BIOGRAPHY

André Vandenbeuck is a Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1931. After training as a carpenter and interior designer, André Vaundenbeuck worked from 1962 to 1989 as a planner and designer for Mobilier International and Mobilier d'aujourd'hui Lille. From 1964 to 1989, he showed models at renowned exhibitions at home and abroad: seven salons des artistes décorateurs in Paris, Triennale Milano (French pavilion), Eurodomus, special exhibition in the Palais du Premier Ministre Avenue Matignon, solo exhibition at the Institut d'art decoratif Lille. His models Unica armchair and Unica chaise longue are in the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris.  From 1965 to 1999 André Vandenbeuck designed seating exclusively for Strässle. Various international exhibitions, awards and diplomas as well as teaching at the Ecole des Beaux Arts Tourcoing and the Institut de design et d'architecture I.D.E.A. Paris testify to the importance of André Vandenbeck in the contemporary design scene.
