When The Invisible Collection launched five years ago, Pierre Yovanovitch was the first to join our roster of amazing architects and interior designers: we are proud to celebrate this anniversary, paying tribute to one of his most famous designs, the Papa Bear armchair, our first piece of collectible design.

The Papa Bear armchairs are our iconic lucky charm, and have become an interior design staple in The Invisible Collection’s catalogue. Based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears fairytale – and sold in collaboration with R & Company -, the Bear armchairs have all the hallmarks of Pierre Yovanovitch’s unsurpassed creativity: by his own admission, he likes them so much, that he kept one of them for himself in his home.

Like in the fairytale, the Bear armchairs come in three sizes – Mama, Papa, and Baby – and are handmade in the famous Ateliers Jouffre. Each armchair has soft rounded forms, ear-like protrusions at the top of the back, and spherical wooden feet, giving them a warm and cuddly feeling. Playful, friendly and comfortable, the bear-like silhouette is an iconic example of boldness and elegance at the same time…Irresistible!
