BIOGRAPHIES

Sebastian Herkner was born 1981 in Bad Mergentheim. He studied product design at the HfG Offenbach am Main and already during his studies focused on the design of objects and furniture, with which he combines different cultural contexts, combines new technologies and traditional craftsmanship that reveals the manifold beauty of the materials and helps small details to gain new attention.

Already during his studies, he worked with Stella McCartney in London, where he sharpened his eye for materials, colors, structures and textures. 2006 he founded his own studio in Offenbach am Main, with which he works for manufacturers such as ClassiCon, De Vorm, Moroso and nanoo, but also for interior design projects, exhibitions and museums. Since 2007, he has worked several times as a lecturer at the HfG Offenbach am Main.

His designs have been awarded several design prizes, so he received 2011 the Young Talent Award of the Designpreis' Deutschland.
